The workarounds get quite convoluted and complicated, and have yet to solve my problem.But yes, it's really annoying when things don't work, or don't work as well as you'd expect. The BSOD only showed up for a bit, so I couldn't see much of what was on it. I remember I had to do that previously when I called up HP for help.

Using this technique with boot gives a significant advantage for boot times, since reading the hiberfile in and reinitializing drivers is much faster on most systems (30-70% faster on most systems It will solve this problem and all other ten thousand problems you will ever have with Windows 8/ 10.Reformat the drive and install Linux. I also did a chkdsk on the hard drive, with only just the first option selected, and it seemed like there were no issues found with that either.
