zontar This tutorial was made in 2011 but to help a poor soul struggling in 2014 and on: I had the same thing and didnt get it to work. the "changing ownership of" thing is still going through files so it hasn't frozen and i'm only trying to access the user file which wasn't particularly big in size either. Just give it shot I am sure your problem will be solved. Also, see if the drive is listed as ‘Healthy Partition' under ‘Disk Management'.
