I use a late 2008 Macbook pro(Running Win7 Pro) + Seagate Freeagent Pro 750 GB. I also have a macbook pro with firewire 800 port, so i plugged a firewire adapter (that i previously bought for this drive from Seagate). So even though that is still slow from what I hear other people saying, it's 6 times faster then before and I'll take it. But it is not as good as others.

I will be surprise if usb 3.0 is slower than usb 2.0. initial time estimate, 4 HOURS!!! Reply Tom Bombadil December 21, 2015 at 2:05 pm I found out my USB doesn't support Cache writing (BTW, watire is supposed to say write) so I just ticked the 'Better External Hard Drive Transfer Speed Drops Call them. Windows nor Linux does get any usable transfer rate. Remember, as with any format, this will delete all data on the drive – make sure nothing important is on it before you begin!
