As a last resort reinstalling Windows is practically guaranteed to clear the problem. You could have a try. Downloaded Testdisk and followed the steps. get redirected here

I am having the exact same issue as you and haven't found any fix. How can I do this if I can't get the drive recognised? The Toshiba itself just stopped working this morning and when I plug it in, will not show up on My Computer and will not light up.
