It could be the CPU. I suppose the fan is failing--not sure if that was the issue before. Fumbling the unit into the cradle probably made two of the contacts connect, instead of all four. The culprit could be anything – from a mouse/keyboard, to a CD drive, to a USB device. check over here

FWIW, I've thought the connection between the watch and the craddle has always been rather poor, it never really snapped firmly in place and easily detached. It won't get you laid. But unable to sync data, with both Training Center as well as garmin connect. I'm hoping that solves it.
