The exact same is true for disabling OS updates with GWX Control Panel. If I download and run a WU agent fixit, I'll have to wait for the next WU deployment to test the fix. The underlying OS is very fast and optimized, but the UI is a Frankenstein monster mess that needs to get sorted out.
